The club had received an invite, via Arthur Henderson, to take part in The Headland Carnival during the period the Tall Ships were in Hartlepool. This was an exciting prospect, the club had been invited for two days and we were allocated an area at The Headland to park and display our cars.
Everyone took the opportunity to walk to the harbour and marina tosee the fantastic ships and soak in the atmosphere. There was lots going on and lots of people. There was also a large funfair along at The Headland and a brilliant fireworks display on the evening. Also at The Headland there was live music which also contributed to the great atmosphere.
Saturday afternoon was the parade for The Headland Carnival and we had 13 cars taking part and leading the parade. People seemed to come from nowhere and there were large crowds to watch the parade - there was a wonderful atmosphere and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
