The 2010 National Rally was held at Harewood House (up North at last!).

Team North East arrived Friday lunch time and set up camp ready for the weekend.  Quite a number of other campers arrived on Friday and the camp site soon started to fill up.

Spectator sport for the afternoon turned out to be the toilets being moved from one part of the site to another and then moved back again!

A small remote control model car was also being moved around the site - these can be custom painted and I am sure will provide hours of fun for anyone who owns one.

Saturday saw the club gazebo being set up on "Branch Avenue" and some of our cars displayed on the stand.

Entertainment on Saturday and Sunday included the Pioneer Display - a re-enactment of the late 1800s (in keeping with the theme this year which was the Wild West), the Punch and Judy show, and an owl display.

The Saturday night party also had the Wild West theme and most of our group dressed up for the occasion - there were some great costumes and the prize for the best fancy dress went to Tracey Cramond our Chairperson, who dressed as a saloon girl.

Sunday was the day for decorating our stand on Branch Avenue and this year we had a "Christmas Come Early" theme.  We used a convertible to pile presents in and decorated the gazebo with streamers, there was fruit punch and mince pies available and sweets and candy canes for the kids.  Again, fancy dress was worn by some of the members (although in some cases not a lot of clothing!!).

It was nice to see that other classics had been invited to the rally this year.

The Morris Minors on view were many and varied and ranged from "work in progess" to "concours".

Public attendance was disappointing on Sunday, probably mainly due to the fact that England were playing a world cup game on the afternoon.

The weather for the whole weekend was fantastic and everyone had a great time.  Let's hope the National will be back in the North soon.
